WGSL & RACL Graduation Ceremony

May 2010

A cloudy sky could not dampen the spirits of nearly one hundred graduates and over five hundred of their guests at the Webster University at Regent's College Commencement Ceremony.

Graduates CheeringSpirits were high and the St Marylebone Church was packed with excited students celebrating and loved ones sharing in their achievements.

Professor Aldwyn Cooper officially began the annual ceremony, followed by a welcome from Dean Judith Ackroyd and an address by Professor Bill Lynch.

Newly Minted Alumni

The names for presentation of degree awards were read by Dr. Valerie Kaneko-Lucas, Head of Regent's American College London, and David Parrish, former Head of the Webster Graduate School London.

Following the conferral of degrees newly- minted alumna Krista Fink gave a personal speech on behalf of all graduates. Professor Cooper then closed the ceremony and invited all to a reception on the lawn of Regent's College.

The GorlockUnder the marquee, family and friends mingled with one another and the Webster Mascot, the Gorlock, made his first appearance on British soil.

A lovely buffet and a selection of beverages kept all warm despite some brief rain and chilly temperatures.

A heartfelt thanks goes out to all the staff who contributed to make Saturday's celebration and rousing success.

"The Regent’s American College London was an excellent place to study International Relations because of the multicultural student body and the cosmopolitan setting.  The lectures were always inspirational with challenging curricula and exciting debates. One of the most exciting aspects of RACL is the small class sizes facilitating a first-rate relationship between the students and faculty as well as the chance for extra help and tuition when I needed it most. The diverse and inspiring education I received at RACL set me on the path to be able to further my education with a Masters degree in International Relations from Kings College London which I will complete December 2004."
