Regent's College

Entry Requirements

Applicants must provide evidence of successful completion of twelve years of schooling, with a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 in the American High School grading system or equivalent. This is calculated on a scale of 0-4, with a 2.5 roughly equivalent to a C+/B-

Candidates for admission should submit along with the application form the following documents:

  • Original (or certified true copies) of all secondary and post-secondary transcripts in the original language.  Official translations must accompany all documentation not written in the English language.
  • Two official letters of recommendation, at least one of which must be academic from your current/last institution.
  • A 300-500 word essay on a topic of your choice.
  • If English is not your native language please see below.
  • Two passport sized photographs
  • A photocopy of your passport

All documents you send us automatically become the property of Regent's College and will not be returned to you.  If you do not want to send original transcripts, you can request official transcripts to be sent to us directly from your school or college.

  • Saudi Arabia: Tawjihiyah
  • Turkey: Lise Diplomasi
  • UK: GCSE’s (at least 5 at grades A-C)

  • UAE: Tawjihiyya

Advanced Placement

If you have completed more than twelve years of schooling, you may be eligible for advanced placement, reducing the time it will take you to graduate by up to one year. If you have already studied at university level, this can also be counted towards an advanced placement. Qualifications normally approved for advanced placement include:

  • France: Baccalaureate
  • Germany: Abitur
  • Italy: Maturita
  • Netherlands: VWO
  • Sweden: Avgangsbetyg
  • UK: A Levels
  • Norway: Vitnesbyrd
  • International Baccalaureate
  • US: College Credits (ACT College Code 5312)

English Language Proficiency

If your language skills do not yet allow us to admit you onto a full degree program, we will ask you to complete an intensive academic English Language course provided by InterNexus, the well-established Language Centre on the Regent’s College campus. You may be able to join the Regent's American College London students as a special non-degree-seeking student. This will allow you to prepare yourself for your degree.

You may be exempt from the above requirements if you have attended an institution where English is the language of instruction for at least two years. If English is not your mother tongue you must demonstrate your proficiency in speaking, listening, reading and writing by providing one of the following when you apply:

  • A minimum TOEFL score of 550 (213 under the computerised system) or 79 IBT. The TOEFL institution code for RACL is 2487.
  • A minimum IELTS score of 6.0
  • A Cambridge Advanced Certificate of grade A-C
  • EIKEN English test - Grade Pre 1
  • Malaysian English 1119 qualification - Grades 1-6, or grade C or above 
  • GCSE/IGCSE English Grade C or above
