PresentationThe course provides overview of the modern history of Asia by examining political issues of the Asian countries in the 20th century after the Second World War. Particular focus is paid to the process of state-formation and conflicting ideas about state-building. There will be lectures on Mondays and discussions or seminars on Wednesdays. A video will be shown on North Korea and there will be a visit to the British Library’s exhibition regarding the Partition of India on Wednesday, 26th September.
