Learning OutcomesTo provide intellectual frameworks for understanding the evolution of world systems in the last five hundred years. By the end of the course, students will be able to clearly define and explain the similarities and differences of historical world systems, and analytically discuss the continually evolving nature of world connection. They will be able to integrate the historic background in understanding the current world system and the issues that face the modern world. Students are encouraged to critically ask questions and synthesize complex information from both the fields of Humanities and International Relations in their written assignments and in discussion.
