BA Social Science

Major in Social Science

The Social Sciences degree at RACL offers students a chance to study human societies from perspectives such as culture, gender, evolution and family structures.  The interdisciplinary design of the major means you will be able to approach these subjects from a variety of disciplines in the behavioural and social sciences. 

Students will be taking courses within anthropology, legal studies, psychology and social science in order to gain a general understanding of behavioural sciences.  You will also study humanity's impact on our world by addressing key issues such as the rise of modernity, the relationship of the individual to society, the construction of gender identities and the effects of ideology in society.

Overall this course encourages students to engage with a series of lively and challenging questions and to learn to think differently about the world we live in.
